A slim system hall with an open long side

GRAEFF supplies the UNI PLUS 7 as a system hall of steel frames, purlins and wall rails. This hall was erected in 2008/09 and converted in 2017: since then the north side has been open on six of seven bays, with only the eastern end bay closed. It can therefore be served along its full length.

  • Clear span: 7 m width without internal columns over 42.58 m length.
  • Tall: 6.50 m eaves for forklifts, truck loading and high storage.
  • Accessible along its length: six door bays of 5.50 × 4.50 m on the long side.

Dimensions on every reference level

The object ID is derived from the system dimension, i.e. the distance between frame axes at column centre. Outer dimensions matter for the plot and foundations.

Structure: eight steel frames on a 6.00 m grid

Eight steel frames carry the hall without internal columns. Columns and rafters are designed to the structural calculation, with a haunch at the frame corner and an end-plate splice at the ridge. C 200 purlins run over all seven bays; C 160 wall rails are arranged in four rows. Roof bracing sits in both end bays, wall bracing in the end bays of the closed walls.

Envelope, doors and daylight

The walls are trapezoidal sheeting with 60 mm mineral-fibre insulation, and the roof is also insulated with 60 mm mineral fibre; colour RAL 9006 white aluminium. The north side is open over six bays of 5.50 × 4.50 m. The east gable has a 4.00 × 4.50 m sectional door and a personnel door, the west gable a personnel door. Two 1.50 × 1.50 m rooflights with smoke and heat vents sit in the southern roof slope.

The classification is an estimate and assumes that 0.85 kN/m² is the ground snow load; this will be checked against the structural calculation. A structural verification to Eurocode is required at the new site.

Possible uses

  • Storage and materials hall served from the long side
  • Shelter for vehicles and machinery
  • Municipal or contractor's depot
  • Bulk material or timber store
  • Covered transhipment area

Dismantling and re-erection

  1. Survey: check against drawings, measure, mark components.
  2. Dismantling: cladding, purlins, rails, bracing and frames in reverse order of assembly.
  3. Transport: loading by component group.
  4. Foundations: new pad foundations as designed for the new site.
  5. Re-erection: new fasteners, re-tension bracing, check cladding.

For the building application at the new site we hand over the manufacturer and conversion drawings and, once reviewed, the structural calculation. On request we connect you with a hall builder for dismantling, transport and re-erection.
