A brand-name hall from the Stahlflex system
HALTEC designed Stahlflex as a system hall: frames, purlins, rails and panels are made for assembly and dismantling. This hall was erected in 2006 to approved manufacturer drawings and has been used as a storage and order-picking hall ever since. Origin, type and dimensions are therefore well documented.
- Clear span: 12 m free span for racking, forklifts and order picking.
- Tall: 6.20 m eaves and about 6.00 m clear height below the tie rod.
- Long and divisible: 48 m length on a 5.00 m grid, can be re-erected shorter.

Dimensions on every reference level
The object ID is derived from the system dimension, i.e. the distance between frame axes at column centre. Outer dimensions matter for the plot and foundations, the clear width between columns for the fit-out.
| Reference | Width × length | Note |
|---|---|---|
| System dimension (axes, column centre) | 11.78 × 47.46 m | 559 m², basis of the object ID |
| Outer edge of steel / inner face of wall | 12.00 × 47.86 m | 574 m² |
| Outer face of wall | 12.14 × 48.00 m | 583 m² |
| Between columns | 11.56 m | usable clear width |
| Eaves / ridge | 6.20 / 7.258 m | outer edge of steel; roof skin at eaves approx. 6.27 m |
| Clear height | approx. 6.00 m | underside of tie rod |
Structure: eleven IPE 220 frames with tie rod
Eleven two-hinged IPE 220 frames carry the hall, spaced at 5.00 m with one 2.46 m bay. A tie rod at about 6.00 m connects the frame corners and is suspended from the ridge. Additional gable columns stand in the gables, and cable bracing in walls and roof stabilises the hall. A base rail runs all round; on the long wall, sill and head rails frame the light band.

The drawings are our own, redrawn from the building records. Purlins, bracing and rails are shown schematically; the original drawings and an on-site survey are authoritative.
Envelope, doors and daylight
The walls are horizontally laid corrugated sandwich panels 50/70, the roof consists of insulated roof panels 120/80. A 3.50 × 4.00 m sectional door sits in the gable, currently with a high-speed door in front. Four escape doors, a light band with vent sashes and three smoke and heat vents in the roof are part of the original equipment. Racking and the two-storey office installation belong to the user and are not part of the offer.

Design loads and Eurocode classification
| Action | Assumption 2006 | roughly equivalent under Eurocode |
|---|---|---|
| Snow | s₀ = 0.75 kN/m² (DIN 1055-5:1975) | zone 1 up to approx. 550 m or zone 2 up to approx. 300 m a.s.l. (German annex) |
| Wind | q = 0.50 kN/m² up to 8 m (DIN 1055-4) | wind zone 1, inland |
The assumptions are derived from the standards valid in 2006 and will be checked against the requested structural calculation. The classification is an estimate to help find a site. A structural verification to Eurocode is required at the new site.
Possible uses
- Storage and order-picking hall
- Workshop or depot
- Machinery and equipment shed in agriculture
- Light production or assembly
- Cold storage for trade and industry
Dismantling and re-erection
- Survey: check against drawings, measure, mark components.
- Dismantling: panels, purlins, bracing and frames in reverse order of assembly.
- Transport: loading by component group.
- Foundations: new foundations and floor slab as designed for the new site.
- Re-erection: new fasteners, re-tension bracing, check and clean panels.
For the building application at the new site we hand over the manufacturer drawings and, once reviewed, the structural calculation. On request we connect you with a hall builder familiar with this system.
Frequently asked questions
What does the hall cost? We quote the price on request after a short qualification. It applies to the standing hall ex site.
Who is the manufacturer? HALTEC, system Stahlflex SH10 12 × 48 × 6.2 m, erected in 2006.
Can I re-erect the hall shorter? Yes, the 5.00 m grid generally allows shorter lengths. Gables and bracing are then rearranged and verified structurally.
Is the structure suitable for my site? The assumed snow load is 0.75 kN/m², roughly enough for German snow zone 1 up to approx. 550 m and zone 2 up to approx. 300 m. A verification at the new site is always required.
